When you first start to crochet, it's common to make potholders. I didn't. Not one. The reason? We already have a treasure of pretty potholders made by someone else. I have been longing to show them here, to give some inspiration, but the camera on my phone didn't cope with close ups. But now I will show them to you! (If you want to see the details better, you can just click on the pictures.)
Let's start with my favorites. Not that they are the prettiest, but since they are big and thick enough to even be used to take out hot plates from the oven. They are crocheted with front or back post double crochet, which makes them thicker. Perfect project for left overs!
This one is so pretty... It is crocheted in long strips woven together. So the potholder is made in double layers.
Here we have some versions on squares and stripes. These are just crocheted with single yarn and are not that thick.
Do you remember this one? I showed it once, wondering what it was used for. An anonymous reader told me she/he had seen it being used for the coffee pan, so now I know! But it was a bit to big for our pan... It is knitted and really thick on top since it's knitted in squares that are pulled together on the back so that they are folded double.
My sister sewed these potholders for me when she was little. Aren't they cute!
This is also a pretty potholder. It is crocheted with single crochet, crocheted in the back loops only which makes it a little rifled. So it's a bit thicker than if it had just been crocheted as usual. This was all for now, but I will soon be back with more potholders!
